Development of Professional Plans & Goals
My professional goals as a Doctor of Physical Therapy center on serving military populations through evidence-based care, tactical rehabilitation, and health promotion. I am especially committed to supporting the unique needs of pregnant and postpartum servicewomen by advancing care models that enhance maternal readiness, recovery, and return-to-duty outcomes. These goals reflect my passion for integrating high-quality rehabilitation, mentorship, and educational leadership to make a meaningful impact within military and tactical healthcare systems.
Immediate Goals (0–6 Mo. Post-Graduation)
- Secure licensure and employment as a civilian physical therapist on a military base.
- Join the APTA state chapter based on duty station assignment (currently registered in Hawaii).
- Obtain NSCA Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F) certification to support high-performance military rehabilitation.
Short-Term Goals (1–2 Yrs)
- Achieve clinical proficiency in military and tactical rehabilitation.
- Begin mentorship and clinical instructor training to support DPT students and early-career clinicians.
- Join a collaborative team and initiate strategic planning for improvement of the Army’s Pregnancy Postpartum Physical Training (P3T) Program.
- Complete Pelvic Function Level 1 & Pregnancy & Postpartum Considerations for High Intensity Athletics (Remote Course) through Herman & Wallace as an introduction to more specialized training in perinatal and pelvic health care.
Long-Term Goals (3–5 Yrs)
- Serve as a contributor to the development and implementation of revamped pilot programs for the Army’s P3T Program, with a focus on improving maternal readiness and physical performance outcomes.
- Teach and mentor DPT students as a clinical instructor, promoting excellence and leadership in the next generation of physical therapists.
- Advance my Herman & Wallace specialized training with the High Intensity Perinatal Athletics Practicum, further developing hands-on skills to evaluate and treat high-intensity perinatal athletes within military and athletic populations.
